CSC announces global alliance with SAP.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1995--Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE:CSC) Monday announced a global partnership with SAP AG.

The Waldorf, Germany-based company is the world's leading provider of client-server business applications.

Under the agreement, CSC will team with SAP to support clients seeking SAP's software products and CSC's business reengineering, outsourcing and systems integration expertise.

In the past year, CSC has built a SAP consulting practice featuring more than 500 experienced specialists who span Europe, the United State and the Pacific Rim. CSC is also establishing six SAP centers of excellence located in Germany, Spain, Belgium, the United States and Australia.

The centers will serve as a resource for CSC's own internal training, and also offer training and product demonstrations to clients. In addition, they will serve as labs to test and showcase industry best practices around SAP software.

Among the company's 200 SAP clients, CSC is currently helping 76 clients implement SAP R/3 client/server solutions. Installations include the first North American bank to install R/3, The First National Bank of Chicago, and the first United States university to use the software, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Honeycutt added that a cornerstone of CSC's partnership with SAP is its recent acquisition of Ploenzke AG, Germany's largest SAP consultancy and a partner with SAP for more than 20 years.
