CSC WINS FIVE-YEAR CONTRACT TO SUPPORT AIR FORCE OPERATIONAL TEST AND EVALUATION CENTER.

: CSC) has been awarded a five-year, $36 million contract to provide rapid test support services for the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center Located at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center is a direct reporting unit of Headquarters, United States Air Force. Employing approximately 1,100 military, civilian and contractor personnel divided into six detachments among  at Kirtland Air Force Base Kirtland Air Force Base is located in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque, New Mexico, adjacent to the Albuquerque International Sunport. The base is the third largest installation in Air Force Materiel Command, covering 51,558 acres (209 km²) and employing over 23,000 people, , N.M. Under the contract, CSC will provide mission area research, task decomposition, test planning, test execution and management, and reporting of technical and scientific findings in support of non-traditional test assessments.

The Test and Evaluation Center supports the Department of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff and other U.S. government entities through tests, evaluations and technology demonstrations to determine the operational capabilities and limitations of Air Force and joint systems. The center also provides operational effectiveness, suitability and evaluation expertise from concept development to system employment.

CSC's Aerospace Information Technologies Business Unit in Albuquerque, N.M., will perform the work supported by eight teammate companies who will provide state-of-the-art expertise and experience. The teammates are: The Aegis Technologies Group, Inc., Albuquerque, N.M.; Advanced Research Inc., Albuquerque; Battelle, Columbus, Ohio; Jackson & Tull, Albuquerque; Metric Systems Corporation, Fort Walton Beach Fort Walton Beach, city (1990 pop. 21,471), Okaloosa co., NW Fla., on the Gulf of Mexico; inc. 1941. It is a year-round beach and fishing resort east of Pensacola. Electronic equipment and small boats are made, and military aircraft are modified here. , Fla.; Mobile Technical Systems, Inc.
