CSC WINS $613 MILLION CONTRACT FOR NETWORK SUPPORT.
Under the terms of the new agreement, CSC will continue to provide design, engineering, operation and management of voice services for the Defense Switched Network (DSN), the secure voice services of the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) and the network management systems for both the DSN and DRSN. These include the advanced DSN/DRSN Integrated Management Support System and the Integrated Network Management System (INMS). CSC will also provide support for other related DISN networks and systems and their respective management systems.
"Timely and assured communications is vital to our armed forces," said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC's North American Public Sector business unit. "The selection of CSC for this crucial effort is a testament to the more than 30 years we have provided support for DISA's networks."
The CSC team includes AT&T, of San Antonio, Texas; BAE Systems, of Herndon, Va.; CACI and General Dynamics, of Arlington, Va.; Qwest, of Fairfax, Va.; Telecordia, of Piscataway, N.J.; and various small businesses.
The DISN includes networks for U.S. services, agencies and combatant commanders. The network management infrastructure will provide continuous communications for warfighters around the world.
