CSC TO USE CA SOFTWARE IN 10-YEAR GLOBAL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT; One Of The Largest Deals In CA's History.


ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 1995--Computer Associates and Computer Sciences Corporation today announced a landmark 10-year software license agreement under which CSC (Card Security Code) A three- or four-digit number printed on the back of credit cards for security purposes. Called "Card Verification Value" (CVV) by Visa, "Card Validation Code" (CVC) by MasterCard and "Card Identification (CID) by American Express and Discover,  will standardize on CA products in its outsourcing throughout the world to better manage the costs and quality of services to clients. CSC will also make CA software available for use throughout its other business groups.

The license--one of the largest in CA's history--gives CSC unprecedented flexibility to use a broad range of software for both its own processing and use by current and future clients worldwide. It also reduces CSC's software costs and dependency on other software vendors.

As part of the agreement, CSC will become an authorized reseller for up to $50 million of CA-Unicenter, the heterogeneous systems management solution for client/server computing, and CA-OpenIngres, the world's most advanced database server.
