CS/CS/HB 271--Confidential informants.This bill--"Rachel's Law"--requires law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). that use confidential informants to: provide certain information and opportunities to each person who is requested to serve as a confidential informant informant Historian Medtalk A person who provides a medical history ; ensure that all personnel who are involved in the use or recruitment of confidential informants receive training in the agency's policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental ; establish policies and procedures addressing the recruitment, control and use of confidential informants; establish policies and procedures to assess the suitability of using a person as a confidential informant by considering certain factors; establish written security procedures relating to relating to relate prep → concernant relating to relate prep → bezüglich +gen, mit Bezug auf +acc files identifying a confidential informant; and periodically review actual agency confidential informant practices to ensure conformity with the agency's policies and procedures.
