 Youth Project will benefit from Saturday's Cruise Night in Valencia, featuring more than 100 late-model and classic cars.

The free event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Valencia AutoSpa, 23500 Valencia Blvd. The event raises money each month for charities through the $10 entry fee paid by those who show their cars.

The Youth Project was formed five years ago in response to a study commissioned by the city of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  to assess the needs and issues of local youths. The study found high rates of drug and alcohol use, gang involvement and criminal activity, and that families of troubled teens didn't know where to turn.

The organization's services are free and include community and campus outreaches Campus Outreach is a network of interdenominational Christian organizations, focusing on evangelizing and discipling college students worldwide under the mission statement "Glorifying God by Building Laborers on the Campus for the Lost World. , Internet services and information, and in-house programs. The Youth Project offers confidential, nonjudgmental non·judg·men·tal
