) and its partners will host the "Wisconsin Green Power Workshop" in Milwaukee Milwaukee (mĭlwŏk`ē), city (1990 pop. 628,088), seat of Milwaukee co., SE Wis., at the point where the Milwaukee, Menominee, and Kinnickinnic rivers enter Lake Michigan; inc. 1846.  on May 13, 2003. The workshop will:

-- Provide Midwest business and institutional customers with information on renewable energy and technical support to help them determine the best strategy for making a green power purchase.

-- Highlight examples of innovative purchasers of renewable energy in Wisconsin and in other states.

-- Update the public and journalists on the state of renewable energy in Wisconsin.

-- Recognize leading purchasers of renewable energy in Wisconsin through a statewide green purchaser awards ceremony and national US EPA US EPA United States Environmental Protection Agency  recognition

"Creating and building the marketplace for purchasing green power is critical if we are to increase our energy supply while protecting our natural resources."

The Wisconsin Green Power Workshop will be held in Milwaukee at Marquette University Marquette University at Milwaukee, Wis.; Jesuit; coeducational; chartered 1864, opened 1881. The school achieved university status in 1907. Among its graduate programs are those in business, engineering, and law.  on May 13th, 2003, and will feature a procurement workshop, a media expertise session, and an awards ceremony. In the morning session, top environmental reporters, journalism students and other state and local media representatives will gather for a media/press expertise session, covering the status of renewable energy in Wisconsin. During the luncheon ceremony, awards will be presented, recognizing Wisconsin's leading green power purchasers and renewable energy providers and organizations helping to build a successful green power market in the Midwest. The afternoon session will target potential non-residential purchasers of green power in Wisconsin, and will provide information on their options, examine the business case for renewable energy, and feature businesses leaders who have purchased green power.
