When area teams run Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College Mt. San Antonio College (commonly called Mt. SAC; pronounced as the word "sack") is a community college located in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, California, next to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona which is just over a hill.

The 13-team Divs. III, IV and V finals had only an 11-percent restart rate over that period. The size of their fields will remain unchanged. Those divisions' prelims also are Saturday at Mt. SAC.

In the past, the top four teams in four preliminary heats advanced to the Southern Section Divs. I and II finals. That number has been reduced to three. The last two spots in this year's finals fields will be filled by the two teams outside the top three in their heat with the fastest team times.

--Postponed: City Section prelims, scheduled for Wednesday, have been postponed until Monday at Pierce College In 2006 the Library won a national Excellence award. Academics
Pierce College offers associate's degrees, mainly in the arts and sciences. There are also certificate programs in early childhood education, social services, dental hygienist, and others.

Competition will begin at 2:20 p.m. Monday with frosh/soph races. Varsity competition begins at 3:25, with the last race starting at 4:12.

--No defense: Burroughs High of Burbank won a piece of its first Foothill League boys' cross country title in 21 years, sharing it with Hart High of Newhall.
