Hart started the season off impressively in the large-schools race of the Ojai Invitational with Russell and Miller finishing third and fifth. The performance moved the Indians into the ninth in the Southern Section Division I rankings. Hart, however, dropped out of the latest rankings after finishing sixth in the Division I race at the Bell-Jeff Invitational at Griffith Park Griffith Park is a large public park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,210 acres (17 km²) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America. on Saturday. Burroughs, however, turned in impressive performances in the Seaside Invitational, posting the fourth-fastest team time, and to win the Division II race at the Bell-Jeff Invitational and its first team title in the 26-year history of the meet.
