Royal High of Simi Valley's boys' cross country team set the Mt. San Antonio College Mt. San Antonio College (commonly called Mt. SAC; pronounced as the word "sack") is a community college located in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, California, next to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona which is just over a hill.

Mt.
 course record, at 76 minutes, 22 seconds, at Saturday's Mt. SAC Invitational, but some are reluctant to call it the best performance on the famed course.

Some critics prefer the 77:09 run by Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  on what was considered a slower course during the 1994 Southern Section Div. I Final.

John A. "Moose" Farrell (July 5, 1857 - February 10, 1914) was a 19th century major league baseball player who played mainly second base in his 11 seasons.
, coach of that 1994 Thousand Oaks team, called Royal's performance Saturday one of the best he'd seen.

``It was absolutely stunning to see,'' Farrell said. ``People can guess about what the course conversions may be, but this one doesn't get an asterisk.''

Royal's top four runners finished in the top 20 of the boys' Div. I/II team sweepstakes.

--Hall of Fame: Farrell and Bob Messina, principal at Canyon High of Canyon Country, are the inaugural class for the California High School California High School (commonly referred to as Cal High) is a public school located in San Ramon, California, a suburb of San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley. Its mascot is a Grizzly Bear. The school's newspaper is The Californian which is published monthly.  Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame.

Messina coached the University High of Irvine boys' and girls' teams to Southern Section Div. I titles. His 1981 girls set a Mt. SAC course record.

--In good form: Camarillo High's Ted Price will run for a third consecutive Ventura County title Friday at Lake Casitas Lake Casitas is a lake in Ventura County, California. It was formed by Casitas Dam on Coyote Creek, two miles (3 km) before it joins the Ventura River. Santa Ana Creek and North Fork Coyote Creek also flow into the lake. .

The senior has been hampered by a groin injury but nonetheless placed 10th in the Div. I/II individual sweepstakes at Mt. SAC. The injury prevented him from accelerating on the course's downhill sections.
