CROATIA TURN UP THE HEAT.

Belarus Belarus or Byelarus (both: byĕ'lərs`), formerly Belorussia, officially Republic of Belarus, republic (2005 pop. 9,799,000), c.  1 Croatia 3

TWO goals from Ivica Olic helped Croatia strengthen their World Cup qualifying claims and kept the pressure on England with a 3-1 win over Belarus.

Arsenal striker Eduardo was also on target for Slaven Bilic's side in Minsk last night.

But England still hold a seven-point lead at the top of Group Six. The teams meet at Wembley next month.

In association football, a midfielder is a player whose position of play is midway between the attacking strikers and the defenders (highlighted in blue on the diagram).
Alex Hleb admits he should never have left Arsenal and signed for Barcelona.

The 28-year-old, now at Stuttgart on loan, said: "I regret leaving Arsenal. I was playing every week for one of the most exciting sides in Europe.

"We were Champions League contenders so, for me, leaving Arsenal was not a good move."
