PHILADELPHIA--"Critical State: Writing Dance into the Twenty-first Century" is the title of the Dance Critics Association conference this year, which takes place in Philadelphia, June 19-21, at the University of the Arts University of the Arts may refer to:

. The 1999 conference is hosted by 2000 Feet--a Celebration of World Dance. Dance Magazine is a sponsor of the DCA (1) (Document Content Architecture) IBM file formats for text documents. Subjects of conference panels focus on writing and will include Internet publishing, dance biographies and how they shape the readers' thinking about the field of dance, an artists' roundtable session, and possibly an examination of the role of producers and presenters of dance in determining what audiences see onstage on·stage
