CRIT-O-MATIC.Byline: -- David Kronke GAMESHOW MARATHON (CBS, Channel 2; 8 tonight, Thursday and June 7; from June 15 on, 8 p.m. Thursdays) Logline: Celebrities vie for rewards for charity in re-enactments of ``classic'' game shows, hosted by Ricki Lake. Tonight, Paige Davis, Lance Bass, Kathy Najimy, Tim Meadows, Leslie Nielsen and Brande Roderick vie for, among other things, ``a beautiful grandfather clock!'' (``That is a beauty!'' Lake gushes) and a grill with ``a beautiful rock-tile countertop!'' as part of a ``beautiful!'' redux Re·dux (r ![]() d ks of ``The Price Is Right.'' Pros: It's potentially nostalgic fun for those who grew up watching these shows. Cons: Watching famous participants pretend as though they know the price of common household items -- not to mention feign lunatic enthusiasm to win such things -- is both quaint and more than a little goofy. In a nutshell: Celebrity cluelessness becomes less beguiling as the show wears on; still, it's an undemanding summer time-killer. Our rating: Two stars CAPTION(S): photo Photo: LAKE |
