Pros: Ostensibly os·ten·si·ble adj. Represented or appearing as such; ostensive: His ostensible purpose was charity, but his real goal was popularity. ennobling en·no·ble tr.v. en·no·bled, en·no·bling, en·no·bles 1. To make noble: "that chastity of honor . . . - finally, a legal procedural just for liberals. Cons: There just seems to be something less intrinsically rewarding about setting innocents free than incarcerating bad guys, which is probably why so many more cop shows focus on catching rather than freeing suspects. The requisite clue always seems to be hiding in plain sight. MacLachlan's investigative teams are pretty generic. In a nutshell: Tonally off - quippy banter falls flat; sentimental moments can freeze the veins. MacLachlan employs cast-off cast·off n. 1. One that has been discarded. 2.
