 retro cop show about quippy detectives (Michael Biehn, Sharif Atkins, Ivan Sergei, Eric Balfour) and more earnest uniform cops (Aya Sumika, Peter Navy Tuiasosopo) fighting crime and looking for love on the island of Oahu.

Pros: Biehn offers some welcome gravity to the general silliness, both intentional and otherwise. A victim of decapitation Decapitation

 in tonight's episode is named Alfredo Garcia, a wink at the Sam Peckinpah film ``Bring Me the Head of,'' yes, ``Alfredo Garcia.'' And it's sort of funny when a carjacker interrupts his getaway in a motorboat to rescue Chicago transplant Declan (Atkins), the detective pursuing him, from drowning. But, seriously - a cop that can't swim? In Hawaii? Please.

Cons: Shooting in a tropical paradise appears to have softened the cerebellum cerebellum (sĕr'əbĕl`əm), portion of the brain that coordinates movements of voluntary (skeletal) muscles. It contains about half of the brain's neurons, but these particular nerve cells are so small that the cerebellum accounts for  of creator Jeff Eastin, a guy whose screenwriting credits always come attached with digits (``Rush Hour 3,'' the unproduced ``True Lies 2''). Plotting is mushy and dialogue is teeth-grating; much of the cast seems to think they're playing stand-up stand·up or stand-up
