Tonight, the requisite serial-rapist story line. Pros: Krumholtz, distracted and jittery, makes for an intriguingly unlikely action (or inaction?) hero. The investigation is serviceably if not memorably rendered. Cons: Looovve the crime shows that debut with investigations of brutal rapes, exposing a murdered victim's bare body parts in tastelessly titillating tit·il·late v. tit·il·lat·ed, tit·il·lat·ing, tit·il·lates v.tr. 1. To stimulate by touching lightly; tickle. 2. To excite (another) pleasurably, superficially or erotically. quick edits (unfortunate for West Coast families seeing the show early) - such a cynical way to grab viewers' attention. Montages where Krumholtz jots out his math problems, to the requisite pop music and computer-enhanced graphics, aren't terribly persuasive as to their cool factor, and the science feels vague and arbitrary. Judd Hirsch Judd Hirsch (born March 15, 1935) is an American Academy Award-nominated, Emmy-winning actor, known for playing the character Alex Reiger on the acclaimed television comedy series Taxi. is inexplicably wasted as the guys' dad. In a nutshell: ``Everything is numbers,'' Charlie says. Particularly in TV, where this drama's inability to stand out from the glut of crime procedurals won't help its numbers.
