No injuries were reported, but the 52-year-old woman and her 61-year-old boyfriend remained severely shaken from the attack.

It occurred as the woman returned home from an evening at the Ahmanson Theatre The Ahmanson Theatre is one of the four main venues that comprise the Los Angeles Music Center.

The woman told police that as she drove down the freeway ramp, she saw a red car that appeared to be stalled on the side of the road and then saw a black car pull in behind the stopped vehicle. At that point, she lost sight of both cars.

``We're assuming that's where she was picked up by the suspects,'' said Detective Robert Johansen of the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  Police Department's West Valley Division. ``We feel they were opportunists. ``She was forced into the house, she was tied up and then as many of four suspects approached the room where the boyfriend was. He was then tied up and was forced on the floor to look into the carpeting. They really didn't get a good view of the suspects,'' Johansen said.

The men were driving two cars, a red compact and a black compact. Police urge anyone who may have seen the cars on the side of the off-ramp at Mulholland Drive-Valley Circle Boulevard exit to contact them at (818) 756-8546.

A woman who lives in the neighborhood said in an interview that she was about to go to bed Wednesday night when she saw the red and black cars pull up to the house. Peeking out a window, she said, she noticed a group of people enter the victim's house and re-emerge about 10 minutes later.

``They didn't drive up together, but I heard them get out,'' said the woman, who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation RETALIATION. ``I thought maybe it was friends of the son who lives there. After about 10 minutes, I saw them rush out. They must have left one of their people behind because this guy came out and started running down the street, screaming, `Hey, hey,' '' she said. ``I guess they stopped later and picked him up.

``I knew something was happening but I didn't think it was a robbery because they were so loud. Who would have thought that robbers would be so loud?'' she asked.

Wednesday's robbery was not the first in recent months in that neighborhood.

The woman said her home and others have been targeted and most recently thieves made off with at least eight metal mailboxes.

``I feel like crime is getting closer and closer to my own home, which is very scary,'' she said. ``These people had guns. They tied up people. This happened at 11:30 at night in Woodland Hills. You are not safe anywhere.''

Most neighbors in the neighborhood refused to give their names out of fear that the robbers would return.

``I have a wife and little baby and these guys could come back,'' a 41-year-old resident said. ``People are very shook up.''

Another neighbor, Chris Antignolo, said he thinks robbers picked his neighborhood because they must know homes there can sell for $400,000.

``We are getting a dog now and more motion sensor lights,'' Antignolo said. ``This is a good neighborhood. If I am home next time I'll kill 'em.''
