CRIME SWEEP HELD IN PALMDALE LAW ENFORCEMENT TEAM ON 11-HOUR SATURATION PATROL.

PALMDALE - An 11-hour saturation patrol in Palmdale on Friday and into the early morning hours Saturday netted three arrests, 41 curfew curfew [O.Fr.,=cover fire], originally a signal, such as the ringing of a bell, to damp the fire, extinguish all lights in the dwelling, and retire for the night. ``This saturation patrol targeted criminal activity and areas of complaint by other citizens in the city of Palmdale,'' said Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Sgt. Kyle Bistline, who heads the PAC team.

The team regularly conducts patrols after it receives a sufficient number of complaints from residents in a specific area, officials said. The patrols are usually conducted on bicycle, which allows the team both the element of surprise and gets them closer to residents in the neighborhood they are patrolling. Authorities said the arrests included William Razo, 34, who was held on suspicion of possession of an illegal weapon and for a parole violation; Nathan Lahman, 29, on an outstanding felony felony (fĕl`ənē), any grave crime, in contrast to a misdemeanor, that is so declared in statute or was so considered in common law.  warrant; and one juvenile for a felony probation violation.

The patrol was conducted by the PAC team with the assistance of the Youth Crime Task Force, the Career Criminal Apprehension Team, probation officers and parole agents.

``The Partners Against Crime unit will continue to conduct these saturation patrols and sweeps regularly throughout the year,'' Bistline warned.
