The Oak View girl's body was discovered by searchers shortly after 2 p.m., about 30 miles north of Ojai, Smith said.

Nearly 100 volunteers joined sheriff's personnel beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday in a search through rocky mountain terrain, dry brush and Ojai-area neighborhoods in hopes of finding Kali.

She was reported missing Sunday evening after an overnight stay with a girlfriend.

From the beginning, Kali's family and friends maintained that she was not the type of person who would run away.

``She always called us as to what her whereabouts are,'' Kali's father, Chuck, said on Thursday. ``I've always known where she is. This had never happened (before).''
