CREW SAVED IN TRAWLER FIRE.

FOUR fishermen cheated death yesterday when they were brought to safety from this blazing trawler.

The Irish Coastguard Marine Control Centre in Dublin received a mayday at 10.15am from the Gismonde, operating from Dunmore East, Co Waterford.

It is believed a fire started in the engine room and ripped through the vessel as it was positioned 60km southwest of the Welsh coast.

All four crew scrambled into a lifeboat and another trawler, The Ocean Pearl, later picked the men up.
