Crespi will play Lompoc on Friday in the Div. X semifinals.

Both teams had a chance to take the lead with field goals in the first overtime, but bad snaps in a light rain crushed any hopes of scoring. North had a chance to go ahead in the second overtime, but a 24-yard field-goal attempt by Abraham Contreras was well short.

escape from North Torrance, the team it defeated in last year's championship game. Morgan rushed for a 21-yard score - culminating a 13-play, 80-yard drive in the second quarter - to give Crespi a 7-0 lead at halftime.

North fought back in the second half and was in great shape after Andrew Banks ran in from 2 yards out in the third quarter and quarterback Daniel Torres

added a 1-yard score with 8:02 remaining, giving the Saxons a 14-7 lead.

Crespi helped keep North's go-ahead scoring drive alive with two personal-foul penalties.

Banks finished with 141 yards on 21 carries and Torres completed 15 of 25 passes for 180 yards.

Crespi primarily went with a running attack, with quarterback Matt Wabby struggling. Wabby was not sharp again, completing only 6 of 13 passes for 62 yards and an interception.

Billy McClellan caught eight passes for 92 yards for North (6-6) and Avery Rucker added an interception for the Saxons, who missed opportunities to take the lead in the first half. Torres threw an incomplete pass An incomplete pass is a term in American football which means that a legal forward pass hits the ground before a player on either team gains possession. For example, if the quarterback throws the ball to one of his wide receivers, and the receiver either does not touch it, or tries  on fourth-and-seven inside the 10-yard-line to end one Saxons series. Contreras also missed a 25-yard field goal attempt on fourth-and-five from the 8 in the second quarter.
