Intimidation worked both ways.

The Arroyo Grande High girls' basketball team fed off it Friday night as the players stuck their noses in the faces of powerful Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest. .

Sinnamonn Garrett answered the challenge.

Garrett, a sophomore forward, played with intensity on both ends of the court to help Crescenta Valley stave off stave

``Sinnamonn is a sophomore with a game of a senior,'' Crescenta Valley coach Damian Scribner said. ``She didn't lose it, she focused.''

Tournament most valuable player Michelle Greco scored 23 points, including a basket with 1 minute, 14 seconds left to give the Falcons a 61-55 lead.

Crescenta Valley took a 37-30 halftime-lead but then watched as Arroyo Grande scored the first 10 points of the second half to take a 40-37 lead. Kristen O'Halloran had two 3-pointers in the run.

North Hollywood 54, Bakersfield 46: The No. 2 Huskies took fifth place, ending the game with a 13-0 run with top-scorer Tashean Thomas on the bench.

Thomas fouled out with five minutes left, but Claudia Villa scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds to pick up the slack for North Hollywood (13-1).

Oxnard 47, Agoura 46: Michelle Morgan and Tina Sananico both had 10 points and the Yellowjackets (2-7) held on for a close win over the Chargers (4-7) to take 11th place.
