CRESCENTA VALLEY LOSES PACIFIC TITLE TO RIVAL ARCADIA : ARCADIA 3, C.V. 0.

Byline: - Brian Dalziel

The frustrations continued Tuesday for the Crescenta Valley boys' volleyball team.

The Falcons kept pace with rival Arcadia but couldn't build enough momentum in key situations and watched as the visiting Apaches claimed the Pacific League championship with a 15-9, 15-12, 16-14 win.

``We're right there against them and we can't get it,'' said Crescenta Valley coach John Nelson, whose team dropped to 6-2 in league and 8-5 overall. ``As much as I hate to say it, they outplayed us. We made little mistakes here and there and they didn't.''

Crescenta Valley, which was led by senior middle hitter Tim Crowder (22 kills) and senior outside hitter Doug English (19 kills), stayed within striking distance of Arcadia (11-2, 7-1) in all three games. In fact, the Falcons rallied from an 11-5 deficit in the third game to take a 14-12 lead.
