But Sinnamon Garrett and Tara Gregory made sure she wasn't missed. The duo, who started last year, accounted for 28 points as the Falcons won the summer tournament for the third straight year, beating Hart 38-31. Garrett scored 15, including 10 of her team's first 13 points, and Gregory walked away with the MVP award after scoring 13 points, including five of the Falcons' first 10 second-half points. ``We're developing kids,'' Crescenta Valley coach Damian Scribner said. ``When the season comes along, it's going to be a blessing in disguise that Greco's not around.'' Actually, Garrett outscored Greco several times last year, and Gregory fed everyone the ball as point guard. The Falcons reached the Southern Section Division I final and the state quarterfinal. It appears they will be ready to make another deep run into the postseason come winter. |
