Gossard, the son of Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest.  assistant coach and former Falcons all-Southern Section running back Dennis Gossard, got his first high school start off on a high note, completing a 50-yard pass on his team's first play.

He went on to complete 21 of 34 for 279 yards, operating most of the time alone behind center with five split receivers - the most important of which was senior Jason Hogan.

Hogan, the Falcons' fastest player and one of the few returning starters from last year's Pacific League tri-champions, finished with nine catches and scored all three Crescenta Valley touchdowns. He had TD runs of 1 and 2 yards and scored on a 94-yard kickoff return.

``We're not as big and we're not as physical as last year, but we've got a lot of heart,'' Hogan said after the Falcons' win over a team some believe can challenge for this year's Marmonte League The Marmonte League is a high school sports league primarily made up of schools from Ventura County. The Lancers seem well equipped to move the ball, with Olson (18 of 28 for 202 yards) and running back Tony Ferrara (76 yards rushing, including TD runs of 6 and 2 yards). Thousand Oaks also showcased fine receiving in Dave Anderson Dave Anderson might refer to:

But for an untimely fourth-quarter penalty, the Lancers might have tied the contest at 21 after Olson's apparent 1-yard TD sweep early in the fourth quarter.

But that was negated by an illegal motion call, and Crescenta Valley recovered a Lancers fumble one play later and drove 96 yards to the decisive field goal.
