CREDIT UNION TO EXPAND.Byline: Alex Dobuzinskis Staff Writer BURBANK - The Burbank City Employees Federal Credit Union is spending about $5 million to build a 9,300-square-foot addition and make other improvements to accommodate its growing membership. The project will increase the lending area and the lobby at the credit union's 12,000-square-foot building at 1800 W. Magnolia Blvd. The addition is expected to be finished in February, when a five-month remodeling project will begin, officials said. The credit union opened in 1940 on Olive Avenue near George Izay Park, and moved in 1994 to its current site. It has 44 employees and 14,000 members. ``The reason why we're expanding is just the member growth that we've had and the member growth that we're projecting,'' said Eric Foster, marketing coordinator. The addition is being built on the credit union's former parking lot. Parking will now be provided on leased space across the street.
