Open since 1962, EFCU EFCU Employees Federal Credit Union  was approved by the National Credit Union Administration The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is responsible for chartering, insuring, supervising, and examining federal credit unions (FCUs) and for administering the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.  to broaden its membership to the nonmilitary-affiliated community of the Antelope Valley.

``We expanded our field of membership to the AV community in order to better serve our current members by affording us the opportunity to offer new products and services to them,'' said Janis Fourr, EFCU's president and chief executive officer.

Credit unions are nonprofit and run by their members. Federal credit unions can only serve people from a specific field of membership, for example, a company or the military.

The volunteer board of directors that governs EFCU is elected from its members.

Overall management of the day-to-day operation of EFCU is handled by Fourr and her paid staff.

``We will grow stronger by expanding our membership base,'' said Ron Davino, Air Force Flight Test Center Joint Technical Support Services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  program manager and the chairman of EFCU's board of directors. ``With more members and greater assets, we'll be able to offer additional and improved services. Growth and strength will be used to meet our No. 1 objective: providing excellent member service.''
