EVERTON FC is in talks with superclub Cream over a sponsorship deal.
And today fans welcomed plans to link the cash-strapped football club with the famous Liverpool nightclub, which could encourage younger supporters.
Everton is in talks with Cream as a possible sponsor for the team strip as its existing deal with One2One comes to an end.
The five year deal with One2One is due to end in August.
Andy Oldknow, Everton marketing boss, said: "We can confirm that we have been in talks with Cream, which are continuing, although the club is currently looking at a wide variety of sponsorship."
Keith Wilson, staunch Evertonian and member of Bluewatch supporters group, said after yesterday's FA Cup defeat: "On a day like today, when spirits are as low as possible, any good news is a plus to the club."
James Barton, owner of Cream, said: "We have been in discussions with Everton Football Club but no further decision has yet been made."
