CRAWL OF THE WILD; Residents' fury at boozy rampage.

Byline: RICHARD SMITH

THIS was the moment a quiet residential street was invaded by an army of drunken tourists marching to the pub.

Peter Jackson, who lives in the road in Newquay, Cornwall, said: "All of a sudden we heard screaming and shouting. There were over 100 people there. It's usually very quiet during the week. There was a guy leading and he's going round with a horn. The noise was horrendous hor·ren·dous

Ben Abbott, whose parents own a guest house on the road, added: "I don't mind if it's in the town centre but this is a residential street. It would be good if they had a little respect. They were lying in the street and stopping cars. People come up here quite fast and could have mown mow 1

Organiser Issy Fisher, who coowns the firm Newquay's Biggest Bar Crawl, has apologised to the residents for the scenes on Tuesday.

She added: "I called an emergency meeting with my staff as soon as I was made aware the air-horn had been used. Disciplinary action has been taken."
