 liqueur liqueur (lĭkûr`), strong alcoholic beverage made of almost neutral spirits, flavored with herb mixtures, fruits, or other materials, and usually sweetened. The name derives from the Latin word to melt.  fused with strawberries and cream, and white flowers. Medium- to full-bodied with a very sleek texture make this an alluring everyday drink.

Chateau La Vernede Coteaux Du Languedoc, 2004 ($9.99)

The layered complexity of this fanciful blend is something to behold. A beautiful purple color with perfumed aromas of ripe red fruits is only the beginning. It is lush, full-bodied and penetrating to the palate. The wine really unfolds with some air, so uncork and enjoy.

Domaine Astruc Marsanne Vin de Pays French legislation on the terminology Vin de pays passed in 1979, allowing producers to distinguish higher quality wines that were not made with AOC classified grapes. The wines have to come from a specific named place, the producers have to submit the wine for analysis and  d'Oc, 2005 ($8.99)

A pale, golden color belies this wine's complexity. A floral nose with a hint of spiciness, with gentle fruit aromas.

Lively on the palate with a clean, crisp finish.
