 Officer Mike Miscione, 42, was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after the 6:30 a.m. incident near Shadow Pines Boulevard.

The crash and consequent cleanup caused the closure of two freeway lanes and slowed commuter traffic leaving the Antelope Valley for 3-1/2 miles. Miscione's car was totaled, but the 19-year veteran escaped serious injury, officials said.
