CRAIG POPS IN; Chart topping idol to play big top.Byline: JOE RILEY HEART-throb Craig David today completed the bill for this year's Liverpool Summer Pops. The 22-year-old teenagers' idol will play the big top at Kings Dock on July 21. His signing finalises the bill for the 2003 Pops - the biggest yet, with 30 shows expected to pull in a record attendance of more than 100,000. Craig David is at number five in the charts with his duet with Sting,Rise And Fall. He has already had number one hit albums Born To Do It and Slick a Than Your Average. With building work on the 4,500-seater big top stadium well advanced,Liverpool is preparing itself for one of the biggest array of stars ever seen in the city. As the city awaits the European Capital of Culture decision,now expected on June 4, the Pops is seen as a shot in the arm for the campaign. None of the other short-listed cities, Newcastle,Birmingham,Cardiff,Bristol or Oxford, can boast an event of such diversity.
