CRACKING DOWN ON CELL PHONES.

More and more people are getting sick and tired of cell phone users disrupting their quiet time. Schools, businesses and governments are all cracking down. Four municipalities (Brooklyn, Ohio, and Hilltown, Lebanon and Conshohocken in Pennsylvania) have banned using cell phone while driving. And an estimated 300 towns including Philadelphia, Chicago and Aspen and 24 states are considering such bans. They would join 13 countries, including Germany, that all have restrictions on the use of car phones. A 1997 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine concluded that talking on a cell phone while driving quadruples the risk of an accident. Many restaurants are now creating cell-phone-free zones, and schools are limiting their use during school hours.
