 CPAC ACQUIRES ITALIAN CHEMICAL COMPANY
LEICESTER, N.Y., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- CPAC, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPAK)

today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the operating assets of Chimifoto Ornano, an Italian manufacturer of imaging chemicals, for cash.
CPAC, Inc. president and chief executive officer, Thomas N. Hendrickson, stated that annual sales for the Milan-based company are $5.6 million. Products manufactured include color and black and white chemicals similar to those produced by CPAC's domestic chemical subsidiaries.
According to Hendrickson, Chimifoto also sells chemical raw materials, technical service contracts and densitometers -- small equipment used for checking chemical quality in the imaging process. Products are presently being sold in Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa.
Commenting on the acquisition, Hendrickson said, "Italy is the fourth largest film consumption market in Europe, and Chimifoto Ornano is positioned second behind Kodak in chemical market share. Strategically, expanded distribution of all CPAC Inc. product lines to these new markets will help us more rapidly achieve our global objectives."
Adolfo Corradi has been named general manager of CPAC's new subsidiary, reporting to Robert C. Isaacs, chief operating officer of CPAC's international division.
CPAC, Inc. is a manufacturer of chemicals and pollution control equipment for the worldwide imaging industry.
