The CPA worked closely with The Home Depot to develop the EPP. "The Home Depot asked the CPA to create a new method of manufacturing engineered wood products that reduces the amount of virgin timber cut and the level of chemical emissions," said Ron Jarvis, Home Depot merchandising vice president. "CPA has developed a consensus-based EPP certification program that is credible and cost-effective," said Elliott Savage, president of industrial products for Georgia-Pacific. "I expect retailers, manufacturers of finished products as well as architects and designers to embrace EPP as a logical step for what is already a recycled-based industry."
