CPA Dennis Young of Los Altos receives public service award.For his services to Los Altos-area organizations, CalCPA has presented Dennis Young Dennis Young was acting Governor-General of Papua New Guinea in 1991. He was Speaker of the Assembly when Serei Eri resigned his position as Governor-General on October 1, 1991. Young served as acting Governor-General until the selection of Wiwa Korowi on November 18, 1991. , CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. with its 2008 Public Service Award. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] The award recognizes Young's quarter of a century of service to community organizations and adds to a long list of honors, which includes the 1994 Los Altos Los Altos (lôs ăl`tōs, lŏs), residential city (1990 pop. 26,303), Santa Clara co., W Calif.; inc. 1952. There is diversified light manufacturing. Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year Award and the 2007 Housing Industry Foundation Summit Award for efforts to prevent homelessness in the Bay Area. Young is a founder of the Foundation and has served as its board treasurer since its organization in 1991. He recently became the Foundation's corporate secretary. Young also has served CalCPA in numerous capacities. He has been a vice chair of the statewide association and president of CalCPA's Peninsula Chapter and has served on numerous committees. He is a past president of the California CPA Education Foundation and has been on the National Council of the American Institute of CPAs.
