CP&L launches Internet home page.


RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 1996--Carolina Power & Light (NYSE NYSE

: CPL) has unveiled a new page in the company's history -- make that a "home" page.

CP&L has ventured into cyberspace by establishing a home page on the Internet. The company's address on the World Wide Web -- www.cplc.com -- will allow its customers, shareholders, the media and the world to communicate with the electric utility company in a new and different way.

"Our home page gives our customers the choice of how and when they would like to communicate with us," said Charles Fuller
