In the letter accompanying the SALP report, Region II Administrator Stewart Ebneter wrote that "the assessment assigned superior performance ratings See benchmark.  for each of the four functional areas assessed and noted exceptional performance in the area of self-assessment."

Ebneter's letter says that "several common threads run through the assessment: effective diverse self-assessment program, staff qualifications, focus on training and facilities, and a low threshold for problems."

Site Vice President Roy Anderson said, "The mission of the Brunswick Plant is the safe, reliable, economic and environmentally sound production of electricity. The latest SALP scores show that we are fulfilling that mission. These good scores are the result of the hard work by employees of the Brunswick Plant and support for the plant from the entire Carolina Power & Light Company."

Anderson added, "While we are pleased with the good scores, we recognize that performance is built one day at a time One Day at a Time is a long-running American situation comedy that portrayed a divorced mother, played by Bonnie Franklin, her two teenage daughters (Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli) and their building superintendent (Pat Harrington, Jr.). , and that the past is history. Both units of the two-unit plant currently are operating at full power, producing more than 1,550,000 kilowatts of electricity. Last year the two-unit plant set an all time record for the amount of electricity generated in a single year. Unit 1 recently completed the shortest outage out·age
