CHANNEL ISLANDS -- Nearly five years of frustration came to an end Thursday Thursday: see week.  night as Calabasas beat Channel Islands 28-14 to snap a 44-game losing streak.

Calabasas had gone four complete seasons without a win, its last victory coming Nov. 1, 2002.

The losing streak was the third-longest in state history.

But it all came to an end behind the passing of Serop Chalian and the all-around play of Justin Justin (Marcus Junianus Justinus), fl. 3d cent., Roman historian. He made a collection of excerpts from Trogus, which gives many facts not recounted elsewhere.  Cudworth Place names

Chalian threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns and Cudworth combined for 142 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.

As a result, the Coyotes finally get a chance to do something they haven't done in nearly fiveyears: Ring the victory bell on campus.

"It's a great win for the school and these young men," Martin said. "We didn't finish well, giving up 14 points and turning the ball over three times. Tomorrow we need to get on the practice field and get better."

Cudworth and Chalian each had short touchdown runs in the first half to help give Calabasas a 28-0 lead. It was a much-needed boost for team in need of confidence. It was easily the Coyotes' (1-2) best two quarters in some time.

"We got our confidence up early and got on a roll," Martin said.
