COX SELLS INTEREST IN DANISH CABLE OPERATION.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 1995--Cox Communications, Inc., today announced the sale of its 50 percent ownership in the Danish cable television operation Stofa A/S, Horsens, to Telia AB, the Swedish telephone company.

The operation, headquartered in Horsens, Denmark, serves approximately 132,000 cable television customers and nearly 450,000 satellite and cable customers in 24 cities in Denmark. Cox Communications Cox Communications is a privately owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises providing digital cable television and telecommunications services in the United States. It is the third-largest[2] cable television provider in the United States, serving more than 6.  purchased shares of the operation in 1973.

In making the announcement, Claus Kroeger, Vice President of Operations for Cox Communications, said, "Our involvement in Stofa has been very rewarding for more than 20 years. We leave now because of Cox Communications' sharper focus on its major U.S. and United Kindgdom distribution operations and its programming commitments in the U.S. and abroad. This is a good time to transition Stofa to a company like Telia, which is a leader in the Scandinavian market. We are pleased to sell our shares to a buyer that will continue Stofa's outstanding progress toward providing full service telecommunications Communicating information, including data, text, pictures, voice and video over long distance.
