COWBOYS READY TO RUSTLE UP RODEO FUN.

Cowboys, bulls and horses will star at Desert Sands Park next weekend for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is an organization whose members compete in rodeos around the United States. The PRCA sanctions rodeo venues and events through the PRCA Circuit System.  Showdown Rodeo.

Bull riding, calf roping, dances and a cowboy church Cowboy Churches are local Christian churches within the cowboy culture that are distinctively western heritage in character. A typical cowboy church may meet in a rural setting in a barn, metal building, arena, sale barn or old western building, have its own rodeo arena, and a  service are among the events Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a temporary arena set up on a ballfield. Free events include a petting zoo and ``How The West Was Fun'' family games.

``It's a family deal,'' said rodeo committee member Johnny Zamrzla. ``It's America's original sport.''

Tickets are $15 for bull riding at 8 p.m. Friday, $15 for the rodeo at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and $12 for the rodeo at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free to the family games preceding the rodeo. The park is at 39101 3rd St. E.

This is the second year that the rodeo will take place at Desert Sands Park but it has been in existence for nearly a decade. The rodeo was moved to the park from the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground.  after the fair moved to west Lancaster.

``If it wasn't for the city, our partner, we'd be in trouble,'' said Zamrzla.

A rock 'n' roll rock 'n' roll: see rock music.  band and dancing will follow Friday night's bull riding.

Saturday activities will begin at 4 p.m. with vendors, a band and family games including sack races, a pie-eating contest, a tug of war tug of war

 and a three-legged race. The rodeo will be followed by a country-western band and barn dance.

Sunday activities will begin at 9 a.m. with a cowboy church service. A pancake breakfast from 10 to 11:30 a.m. will cost $3 per person. Family games will continue from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
