COWBOY MUSIC AND POETRY CELEBRATED AT NEWHALL'S MELODY RANCH.Byline: Carol Rock Staff Writer NEWHALL - Back in the old days, Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Hart. Most of the activities will take place at the historic Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio in Placerita Canyon. A food court will feature items such as homemade fruit cobbler, biscuits and gravy Biscuits and gravy is a popular breakfast dish in both the southeastern and northwestern regions of the United States. It consists of (American-style) biscuits (which are actually savory scones) covered in thick "country" or "white" gravy made from the drippings of cooked pork , and tri-tip sandwiches cooked inside a massive ``train engine.'' On Friday afternoon, four performers who made significant contributions to the area's Western heritage will officially join the Walk of Western Stars - their names inscribed in·scribe tr.v. in·scribed, in·scrib·ing, in·scribes 1. a.
