Back by popular demand, the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. The Flickers will now be a quarterly fund-raiser for the society, with the first performance to be held Aug. 15 and others scheduled for the third Friday in November, February and May. Society members have found some movies that were filmed in the Santa Clarita area.

The Aug. 15 film, ``Code of the West,'' was shot entirely in downtown Newhall and features a glimpse of the Gifford House, which was home to the Newhall Train Station master, as well as shots of the old Newhall sheriff's station and the Hap-A-Land Dance Hall.

Each movie will be accompanied by a catered dinner, including dessert, soft drinks and coffee. For historical society members, the cost for an evening of dining and entertainment is $25 for adults and $15 for children. For nonmenbers, the cost is $30 for adults and $20 for children. Members can buy the Friday Night Flickers series all at once for $100 ($60 for kids) or $120 ($80 for kids) for nonmembers. Those who purchase the entire series will receive four nights of old-fashioned entertainment plus their choice of a ``Legacy'' video or one of the two ``SCV SCV Santa Clarita Valley (California)
