COWBOY FESTIVAL TO BE DELAYED BY FILMING.

NEWHALL - Cowpokes will have to hold their horses a month longer for the 2005 Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival.

The popular event, traditionally held the last weekend of March, has been postponed to accommodate filming of the HBO Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO)

City officials met with producers of ``Deadwood'' and the owners of Melody Ranch, who suggested delaying the annual festival.

Nearly 10,000 people participated this year in the celebration of the Western lifestyle. The five-day event features live music, readings from internationally-known cowboy poets, blacksmithing and roping demonstrations and Western merchandise vendors. It also provides the public's only look behind the scenes of the Melody Ranch.

The festival also provides a backdrop for the Cowboy Couture fashion show and the Walk of Western Stars, a gala event honoring Western TV and film stars who have worked in the area, who receive terrazo-and-bronze saddles implanted in the sidewalk A Microsoft service that was launched in 1997 to provide online arts and entertainment guides on the Web for major cities worldwide. In 1999, Microsoft sold Sidewalk to Ticketmaster, which continued to provide guides, ticketing and other information to the MSN network.  along San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. It starts off in Castaic as The Old Road, passing through Santa Clarita and the Newhall Pass, where upon its intersection with Sierra Highway near the junction of the Golden State (I-5) and the  in downtown Newhall.
