COVENTRY CORPORATION ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES.NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1995--Coventry Corporation (Nasdaq/NM:CVTY) today announced that the Board of Directors had accepted the resignation of Philip Hertik, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Coventry. Mr. Hertik resigned his position to pursue other interests. The Board will begin a search immediately to fill the vacancy. The Company also announced that Larry Kugelman, previously executive vice president of American Medical International, an owner and operator of 36 acute care hospitals, and a member of Coventry's Board of Directors since 1992, will assume the position of president and chief executive officer on an interim basis. Mr. Kugelman has been an executive in the managed care industry for over 20 years, during which time he has served as president and chief executive officer of Health Plan of America and CIGNA CIGNA CG (Connecticut General Life Insurance Company) INA (Insurance Company of North America) Healthplans of California. Mr. Kugelman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Johns University and his M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University Vanderbilt University, at Nashville, Tenn.; coeducational; chartered 1872 as Central Univ. of Methodist Episcopal Church, founded and renamed 1873, opened 1875 through a gift from Cornelius Vanderbilt.
