Doncaster believed they had scored their second try on 37 minutes when centre Stevie McColl crossed by the post, but referee Adrian Hartwell disallowed the score for a punch in the build-up, sparking a rousing finish to the half by Coventry which saw Doncaster flanker Adam Kettle sin-binned.

Miller grabbed his second try three minutes after the restart, latching on to a midfield chip by Dorrian, who then added the conversion.

Doncaster responded with 10 points in the space of three minutes, Lennard kicking a penalty before converting a Wes Davies try, and the fly-half 's second penalty put the visitors ahead for the first time at 20-19 after 56 minutes.

But Coventry dug deep, and centre Donovan Sanders followed up his own kick ahead to score their fourth try, converted by Dorrian, which proved the winner.

Doncaster put everything into the final minutes but couldn't break down a superb home defence.
