Two crew members on board were able to walk away because it was low tide, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Business Times newspaper published a picture Thursday of the famous ship lying underwater Wednesday on its side.

Officials at the Kwong Soon Engineering Company's yard, where the ship was berthed, refused to give details.
