COUSIN HELD IN MAN'S SHOOTING DEATH.

 shot at a weekend family gathering in South Glendale when his cousin was showing him a new gun, and it accidentally went off, relatives of both men said Tuesday.

It does not mean in addition to.  $1 million bail in the Saturday night slaying of his cousin at the Chattanooga Club Restaurant, 811 E. Colorado Ave. Vivas is scheduled to be arraigned today on a charge of murder.

Both of the men were attending a quinceniera - 15th birthday celebration - for Vivas' sister when the shooting occurred, said Leticha Chang Chang (chăng) or Yangtze (yăng`sē`, yäng`dzŭ`), Mandarin Chang Jiang, longest river of China and of Asia, c.3,880 mi (6,245 km) long, rising in the Tibetan highlands, SW Qinghai prov. , spokeswoman for the Glendale Police Department.

``(Jorge Montes') wife and his parents were there. ... It was the worst possible scenario,'' Chang said.

Miriam Montes, who also was at the party, said that there had never been any trouble between her brother and Vivas, and relatives believe Montes was shot while Vivas was showing him a new gun.
