Judge Robert C. Cosgrove

Mark R. Ringland, 41, of 73 Uxbridge Road, Sutton, was sentenced to two and a half years in the House of Correction after being found guilty after a jury-waived trial of driving while under the influence of alcohol (fifth offense). He was sentenced to a concurrent term of 60 days in the House of Correction after being found guilty after a jury-waived trial of driving with a suspended license (fifth offense). He was found not guilty after a jury-waived trial on a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol (fourth or subsequent offense).

Edwin Ramirez, 38, of 73 Boutelle St., Fitchburg, was sentenced to two years in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to possession of heroin with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to two concurrent terms of two years in the House of Correction after pleading guilty to assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. The balance of the sentence was suspended for one year with probation. As conditions of probation, he was ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations with any related treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department and to submit to random drug tests.

Reagan C. Anthony Mejia, 19, of 28 Caroline St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (car door, shod foot), continued without a finding for one year, ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluations with treatment and counseling as recommended by the Probation Department and to attend an anger management program, $90 victim witness fee.

Joseph R. Miles Jr., 36, of 32 Perry Ave., Worcester, charged with violation of an abuse prevention order, sentenced to five days in the House of Correction.

Brian Murphy, 19, of 84 Richmond Ave., Worcester, charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife or cutting instrument) and assault and battery, continued without a plea or finding and placed on pretrial probation for six months, ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free, to submit to random drug tests and to have no contact with the victim.

Sean E. Gilligan, 24, of 26 Cutler St., Dudley, charged with driving an uninsured vehicle, dismissed, $100 costs; and driving with a suspended registration, dismissed.

Steven D. Bartlett, 31, of 41 Wayne St., Worcester, charged with assault and battery, dismissed.
