COURT HEARING DELAYED.

LOS ANGELES - A preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday for two Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  school board members has been delayed until after the November election.

Hart High School District board President Gloria Mercado, 48, and College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. Deputy District Attorney Arunas Sodonis said the election had no bearing on the court schedule.

The delay was a result of additional work that needed to be done between the two attorneys outside the court and the defense's desire to bring in another witness.

Charges were filed against the married couple in December 1999 and relate to activities the pair conducted in 1998, the same year they were married.

The preliminary hearing is now scheduled for Nov. 15, three days following the election.

``I don't think the attorney is purposely delaying,'' Sodonis said.
